The two jobs, one discipline
Days are split between Shortlist, the AI search visibility studio I founded, and Versus Equity, where I lead Growth and AI for a DC lifestyle group spanning hospitality venues, a marketing agency, and a venture arm. Same discipline on both sides: measure how people and businesses get found now, then improve it.

I grew up backstage in the speaking business. My father, Rohit Bhargava, is a #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author who has keynoted for NASA and Disney, so I know exactly what one booking is worth. In early 2026 I noticed event planners had stopped Googling speakers and started asking AI. I ran the test on the speaker I know best: AI knew exactly who my dad was, and almost never recommended him.
That finding became Shortlist: AI does not recommend the best speaker. It recommends the one it can read. Shortlist measures how speakers show up on the real questions planners ask, scores it, prescribes the exact fixes, and re-measures. Every number traces to a logged, dated answer.

I lead Growth and AI at Versus Equity, a Washington, DC lifestyle group spanning hospitality venues, a marketing agency, and a venture arm. My work is developing the systems and workflows that improve how the group's marketing and hospitality arms operate. The details belong to the company; the short version is that I build things there that keep working on their own.
M.S. International Business · London capstone
Finished the accelerated M.S. in International Business at 21, one year after the B.S. Selected as one of a small group of students in the program for the international business capstone in London in summer 2026, an immersion program working inside firms in the UK.
GW School of Business
Degree one, finished at 21 while running Pi Sigma Epsilon and working, then straight into the accelerated master's program the next semester. In April 2026, GW's Division for Student Affairs recognized those undergraduate years with the Baer Award for Individual Excellence in the GW Community at the 42nd annual Excellence in Student Life Awards, one of three recipients university-wide.
Marketing & AI Summer Associate · McLean, VA
Created and ran the first sitewide GEO audit at the Fortune 50 housing finance company, measuring how AI assistants describe the enterprise against competitors, and deployed projects to improve that discoverability. Ran and hosted AI Skunkworks sessions for internal teams, teaching people how AI systems work and how to use and deploy them, and briefed findings to senior leadership including the CEO.
Founder & Founding President · The George Washington University
GW had marketing classes but no place to practice the job, so I built one. Founded GW's chapter of the national professional business fraternity, recruited a 15-person executive board, and grew it to 65 members. In March 2025 we accepted our national charter at the PSE National Convention in Cincinnati, the fastest chartering in PSE's history, welcomed with a standing ovation. Along the way we brought in speakers from Capital One, JPMorgan, Adobe, and Mars Wrigley, and built the officer transition pipeline the chapter still runs on.
When members kept asking for resume help one seat at a time, I built a free AI resume tool so help stopped depending on whether I was in the room.
Marketing Associate (part-time) · Washington, DC
A year inside a global agency while carrying a full course load. Supported campaigns for clients including WWF, Bloomberg Philanthropies, American Public University System, and UC Scout, with placements in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Forbes.
Panelist, "Speak Gen Z" · age nineteen
Spoke on CES main programming about how brands reach Gen Z, in front of 250+ people. On stage with me: Tami Bhaumik, VP of Civility and Partnerships at Roblox; Dylan Huey, CEO of REACH; BJ Pichman, consulting director at Mintel; and moderator Lori Schwartz, CEO of StoryTech. One stage, found by the right people, changes everything after. That lesson became a company two years later.
Cincinnati → Buenos Aires → Washington, DC
Started college at the University of Cincinnati in sports nutrition. Good grades, Dean's List, wrong fit. Two moves fixed it: a semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which turned a travel habit into a way of seeing markets, and a transfer into the George Washington University School of Business, where I knew exactly nobody. That blank slate is what made founding things feel necessary.

Took first place in Virginia's DECA social media marketing competition, created and hosted HealthBusters, a health myths-and-facts podcast for teens, and refereed youth soccer on weekends with a USSF Grassroots license.

Worked launches for the publisher of the #1 Wall Street Journal bestseller Non-Obvious Megatrends, recorded floor interviews across CES, and supported live production for the Beyond Diversity Summit and the bestselling book that followed. This is where I learned how ideas get found, cited, and remembered, years before that became my job description.
First internship · landed at fifteen
Talked my way into a product marketing internship at the CES Innovation Award-winning startup behind the world's first smart nutrition bottle, while still in high school. First lesson in startups: nobody tells you how, you figure out how.
South Asian Youth Volunteer Association · volunteer to advisory board
Where the whole thing starts: food-security drives and community service across the DMV and India, starting at age ten. Led SAYVA's social media from 2015 to 2022, and now serve on the College Advisory Board while leading SAYVA Next, its young-adult segment. A decade in, still the longest commitment on this page.
